Cited by the most prominent newspaper in Finland, the "Sanomat" as "a giant of the piano" RAN DANK was born in Israel in 1982.
Mr. Dank has won virtually every major prize available for a young musician in his country. He has been receiving The America Israel Cultural Foundation scholarships since 1992, and is now receiving the special "International Scholarship"; Prizes in competitions in Israel include the “Voice of Music Competition", and the "Rafi Goralnik" at the “Spring Competitions” 2002.
In 2000 Dank has received a special “Educational Award” at the London International Piano Competition, designated for young people who show exceptional talent. Additional prizes include first place at the “Lions Organization International Piano Competition" in Belgium at 2003, and an award at the "Missouri International Piano Competition" in 2002.
Dank has given recitals in the U.S.A, Belgium, Poland, France, England, Germany, Finland, and Russia in prominent venues such as "the Steinway Hall" in New York, and "the Glazunov hall" in St. Petersburg.
Dank participated in the Chopin Festival in Warsaw and Zelazowa Wola performing Chopin and Liszt programs, has participated in a complete Scriabin Sonatas cycle in the Israel Festival, and has played a variety of programs combining some rarities of the piano literature in the Mantta Festival for Virtuoso Pianists in Finland.
Dank has performed as a soloist with the Rishon Lezion Symphonic Orchestra, the Jerusalem Symphonic Orchestra, and the Raanana Symphony Orchestra amongst others.
Mr. Dank has participated in masterclasses with such prominent figures as Yoheved Kaplinsky, Christopher Elton, Andras Schiff, Vladimir Viardo, Pavel Gililov, Staffan Scheja, Pnina Salzman Jacob Lateiner and Yefim Bronfman.
Mr. Dank started playing the piano at the age of seven with Mr. Yaakov Krantz. He went on to work with Liora Peleg in the Givaataim conservatory and from 1994 until 2002 he studied with Prof. Vadim Monastirsky of the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance. Between 2000-2003 Dank has served in a special musician status in the Israeli Defence Force.
In the years 2004-2005 he received his B.A. in music studying with Prof. Emanuel Krasovsky, at the Tel Aviv Rubin Academy of music.
Since 2005 Dank has been studying for the M.M degree with Professors Emanuel Ax and Joseph Kalichstein at the Juilliard School in New York.
